About Us...

Cynthia Bridgwood has been in the pub trade for 38 years and knows just how to run The Crown Inn Goostrey to the maximum enjoyment of its many regulars and visitors. You can expect a very warm welcome indeed from Cynthia.

We started at the Crown Inn in 1991, and the place looked very different :

We looked a little different too - big hair!

(Click for bigger images showing the hair and shoulder pads in their full glory :o)

Moving forward, thankfully, this photo shows Cynthia with the Mysterious Visitors - little statues left by guests all over the pub!

It might have had something to do with Gerry ...

Gerry Bridgwood was a professional footballer in earlier years playing at Stoke City with Gordon Banks, and at Shrewsbury Town. He was once voted the sexiest footballer in Division One!

Gerry says that whilst on holiday one time Cynthia spotted a young hunk attracting a lot of attention from the girls - unimpressed, Gerry remarked "yeah, but I bet he never scored against the Arsenal".

Our son, Scott Bridgwood, is an artist who has exhibited in London and Rome.
